Doug Wregg, New Yorkban született, ám Londonban nevelkedett.

Doug Wregg, born in New York, but London-bred, threw in the opportunity to become an English teacher in favour of working first as a restaurant manager, then as a sommelier. Eventually the long hours caught up with him, and in 1996 he was offered a job as a sales representative at Les Caves de Pyrène. They own a group of natural wine bar and organising London’s artisan producer festival, The Real Wine Fair. Doug’s new book is published and now on you can buy it in our webshop too!

The Real Alternative Wine Glossary is a slim volume aimed at wine nerds and pun-sters (and wine nerds who are pun-sters). With a considerable nod and a wink to Douglas Adams’ The Meaning of Liff, this is a slender dictionary designed for the back pocket or the Christmas stocking, rather than the wheelbarrow, and is a highly idiosyncratic squint at the world of wine language in all its glorious jargon – with more than a few pointed redefinitions.

The book was produced using environmentally-friendly risograph techniques on untreated recycled paper and using soy-based inks.
